Ingredients

4 pork steaks (about 1-inch thick)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Pork Steaks: In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over the pork steaks and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.

Prepare the Grill/Pan: Preheat a grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, be sure to add a splash of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Pork Steaks: Once hot, place the marinated pork steaks on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side without moving them to achieve a nice sear.

Flip and Add Butter: Turn the steaks over and add the unsalted butter to the pan. As the butter melts, use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter, enhancing their flavor. Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Rest the Steaks: Remove the pork steaks from the grill or skillet and let them rest on a plate for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy steak.

Serve: Slice the pork steaks against the grain and serve with a drizzle of the garlic butter from the pan. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
