1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark, your choice)

1/2 cup crushed Twix bars (about 2-3 bars)

Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

      Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

        In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.

          Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Twix bars until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

            Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

              Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie and drizzle about half a teaspoon of caramel sauce into each indentation.

                Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

                  Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                    Once cooled, you can drizzle additional caramel sauce over the cookies and sprinkle lightly with sea salt if desired.
