Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

4 slices of cheddar cheese

2 slices of crispy bacon

1 large onion, sliced

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons BBQ sauce

2 large lettuce leaves

1 avocado, sliced

Salt and pepper to taste

2 toasted burger buns

Instructions

Prepare the Onion: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with a bit of salt during cooking.

Form the Patties: While the onions are cooking, shape the ground beef into two equally-sized patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cook the Patties: Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, then add cheese slices on top and cook for another 3-4 minutes until desired doneness is reached and cheese is melted.

Cook the Bacon: In a separate pan, cook the bacon until crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.

Assemble the Burger: Spread a tablespoon of BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cheesy beef patty, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and sliced avocado. Cap it with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve hot with a side of sweet potato fries or your favorite dipping sauce.
