Ingredients

9-12 lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular)

2 cups ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

Layer Ingredients: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce (3-4 noodles, depending on the size).

Add Cheese: Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Then sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese and a couple of tablespoons of Parmesan cheese on top.

Repeat Layers: Add another layer of marinara sauce, followed by noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, more mozzarella, and peanuts of Parmesan. Finish with one last layer of noodles, marinara sauce, and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top.

Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (avoid touching the cheese) and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Uncover and Finish Baking: After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Cool and Serve: Let the lasagna cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
