Ingredients

1 large French baguette

1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper (red or green), thinly sliced

8 oz provolone cheese, grated

4 oz cream cheese, softened

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet, cooking until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the veggies from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned but still tender.

Return the sautéed onion and bell pepper to the skillet, mixing them with the steak. Stir in the softened cream cheese, allowing it to melt and combine evenly with the other ingredients. Remove from heat.

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise, and scoop out a bit of the soft bread from the inside to create space for the filling.

Spread half of the provolone cheese on the bottom half of the baguette. Spoon the steak and vegetable mixture evenly on top, then layer the remaining provolone cheese over the filling.

Place the top half of the baguette back on, securing the filling, and wrap the whole bread in aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is warm.

Carefully unwrap the bread and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Slice into generous pieces and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the cheesesteak bread on a wooden cutting board for a rustic look, and accompany it with a side of mixed greens or a light salad for a refreshing touch. Enjoy!
