Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2 tbsp milk (for icing)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, and salt. Add in the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.

Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches).

Spread the softened butter for the filling over the dough. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon; then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.

Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

While the rolls are baking, make the icing by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Once the rolls are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling the icing on top. Serve warm and enjoy!
