Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

1/4 cup maple syrup

2-3 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust based on your spice preference)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Wings: In a large bowl, combine the maple syrup, chopped jalapeños, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well. Add the chicken wings to the bowl, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup.

Prepare the Wings for Baking: Remove the wings from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the wings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle the olive oil over them for extra crispiness.

Bake the Wings: Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-50 minutes, turning them halfway through to ensure even cooking. Bake until they are golden brown and crispy.

Glaze the Wings: In the last 5-10 minutes of baking, brush the wings with the leftover marinade for added flavor. This will caramelize slightly thanks to the maple syrup.

Serve: Once baked, remove the wings from the oven and let them cool slightly. Transfer to a serving platter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.

Enjoy Your Wings: Serve these sweet and spicy wings with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing, and enjoy the perfect balance of heat and sweetness!
