Ingredients

4 cups water

2 tablespoons loose black tea or 4 tea bags

1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Juice of 1 lemon

Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

Once boiling, remove from heat and add the black tea. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.

While the tea is steeping, prepare the cherry-ginger mixture. In a separate bowl, combine the cherries, grated ginger, honey, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mash the mixture with a fork or muddler until the cherries release their juices.

Strain the steeped tea into a pitcher, discarding the tea leaves or bags. Add the cherry-ginger mixture to the pitcher and stir well to combine.

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 1-2 hours.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled cherry ginger tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
