Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)

1/2 cup maple syrup (for drizzling, optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Mix well.

In another bowl, cream the softened butter using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Then, mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until smooth.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the chopped pecans, mixing evenly throughout the batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

If desired, drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
