Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

8 oz egg noodles or your choice of noodle

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, sliced

2 green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.

Cook the Ground Beef: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, sautéing for about 2 minutes until fragrant and the onions are translucent.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add the cornstarch-water mixture to this sauce and stir until well combined.

Combine Everything: Pour the sauce over the cooked ground beef, stirring to combine well. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Add Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the beef mixture. If it's too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency. Toss everything together over low heat until the noodles are well coated and heated through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Enjoy your flavorful and stunning Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles!
