Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red or green)

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular shape, about 12x16 inches.

In a bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella, sliced pepperoni, grated Parmesan, diced bell peppers, chopped onions, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.

Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough, leaving about an inch border around the edges.

Carefully roll the dough starting from one of the longer sides, tucking the filling as you go to create a tight roll.

Pinch the edges to seal the Stromboli and make sure the filling doesn’t spill out.

Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top and sides with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Using a sharp knife, make a few slashes on top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape while baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
