Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust for sweetness)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Ice cubes (optional for iced version)

Whipped cream (optional for topping)

Instructions

In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and honey (or maple syrup). Blend until smooth to create a strawberry puree. You can add a splash of water if needed for easier blending.

In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with a few tablespoons of warm milk until smooth and creamy, breaking up any lumps. This forms the matcha base.

In a separate saucepan, heat the remaining milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling. If you want a frothy latte, whisk the milk vigorously or use a milk frother.

Stir in the vanilla extract into the heated milk and mix well.

To assemble the latte, first pour about 2-3 tablespoons of the strawberry puree into the bottom of a glass.

Slowly pour in the warm milk mixture, allowing the strawberry puree to float to the bottom and create a lovely layered effect.

Finally, gently pour the matcha mixture on top of the milk. You can use a spoon to help layer it if necessary.

For an iced version, prepare the strawberry puree and matcha mixture as above, then fill a glass with ice cubes before pouring in the milk and matcha.

Top with whipped cream if desired, and garnish with sliced strawberries or a sprinkle of matcha powder.
