Ingredients

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup vegetable broth (or water)

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon chili paste (adjust to taste)

Optional: 1 tablespoon of Sriracha for extra heat

Optional: 1 tablespoon of chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey (or maple syrup) until fully combined.

In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the vegetable broth (or water) until smooth and there are no lumps.

Add the cornstarch mixture to the soy sauce mixture and whisk thoroughly.

Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili paste. If you like it spicier, add the Sriracha as well.

Transfer the mixture to a small saucepan over medium heat.

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently, until it thickens (about 3-5 minutes).

Remove from heat and let it cool before using, or store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Stir well before use.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 15 minutes | Servings: About 1 cup

                  - Presentation Tips: Drizzle some of the sauce over stir-fried vegetables or protein, and sprinkle with chopped green onions for a pop of color before serving.
