Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small corn tortillas

1 cup diced onions

1 cup chopped cilantro

1 lime, cut into wedges

1 avocado, sliced

1 cup salsa (your choice of mild or hot)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a small bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the flank steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for more flavor).

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness (medium rare, 130°F - 135°F).

Rest and Slice: Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.

Warm the Tortillas: In a separate skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Place a small amount of sliced steak onto each tortilla. Top with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and sliced avocado. Add a spoonful of salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime juice over the top.

Serve: Enjoy your steak tacos immediately with additional lime wedges on the side for extra zest!
