Ingredients

2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Steaks: Season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to enhance flavor and ensure even cooking.

Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until the desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate, covering with foil to keep warm.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add Tomatoes and Broth: Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Stir well to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Return the Steaks: Place the seared steaks back into the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Let them simmer in the sauce for 3-4 minutes to soak up the flavors while heating through.

Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the steaks on plates, generously ladling the pizzaiola sauce over them. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
