Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 can (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup green onions, chopped

Tortilla chips, for serving

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add the taco seasoning to the meat, following the packet instructions (usually requires adding water). Stir until well combined and simmer for a few minutes.

In the slow cooker, layer the following ingredients: start with the seasoned meat, followed by the black beans, diced tomatoes, and cubed cream cheese.

Pour the sour cream over the top, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses evenly over the mixture.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the cheeses are melted and everything is heated through.

Stir the dip gently to combine all the layers before serving.

Just before serving, top with chopped green onions and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.

Serve hot with a side of tortilla chips for dipping.
