Ingredients

3-4 lbs beef brisket

2 large onions, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Begin by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the brisket generously with salt and pepper on both sides and sear it in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned. This step enhances the flavor of the brisket.

Once the brisket is seared, transfer it to the slow cooker.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and garlic, sautéing until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the balsamic vinegar, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the pan for added flavor.

Pour the onion and balsamic mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours, until the brisket is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, you can strain the gravy if you prefer a smoother texture.

Slice the brisket against the grain to ensure tenderness, and serve it topped with the balsamic onion gravy.

                  Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 10 hours | Servings: 6-8

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the brisket slices on a large platter, drizzled generously with the balsamic onion gravy. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Pair with creamy mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the delicious gravy.
