Ingredients
  

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 cup bell peppers (red, green, or yellow), sliced into strips

1 large onion, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, minced

1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly cracked)

1 teaspoon sugar

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Steamed rice or noodles (to serve)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Toss to coat the steak evenly and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

    Prepare the Vegetables: While the meat marinates, slice the bell peppers and onion, and mince the garlic and ginger. Set aside.

      Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated steak, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes until it's browned but not fully cooked. Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside.

        Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

          Combine Steak and Vegetables: Return the beef back to the skillet with the vegetables. Add freshly cracked black pepper and sugar. Stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes until the steak is cooked through and the flavors are combined.

            Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve the sizzling pepper steak over steamed rice or noodles for a delightful meal.
