Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 pound breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, according to preference)

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional for garnish)

Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Reduce heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until melted and combined with the sausage.

Mix in the drained Rotel tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Stir well until everything is fully combined and heated through. Remove from heat.

Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a lightly greased or floured surface. Separate the dough into triangles according to the perforations.

Place approximately 2 tablespoons of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese over the filling.

Roll up each crescent from the wide end to the tip, starting with the filling. Place each rolled crescent on a greased baking sheet, with the tip facing down to prevent unrolling.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro if desired for a fresh touch.

                    Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 8

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the crescents warm on a platter with a side of ranch or sour cream for dipping. Garnish with additional cilantro for an added flair!
