Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground breakfast sausage

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 (10 oz) can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until thoroughly combined and creamy.

On a floured surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.

Spoon a generous amount of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wider end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling.

Roll the crescent triangles from the widest end to the point, wrapping the filling snugly inside. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.

Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh cilantro for an added touch of flavor and color.
