Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls

1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), drained

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.

Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, drained Rotel tomatoes, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.

Prepare the Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles as per package instructions.

Fill the Crescents: Place a heaping tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough over the filling, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides as you roll to enclose the filling.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the filled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart to allow for expansion.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 30 min | Servings: 8-10 crescents

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the crescents on a serving platter with a small bowl of sour cream or guacamole for dipping, and garnish with additional cilantro for a pop of color.
