Ingredients

8 oz (225g) spaghetti or any pasta of choice

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Combine: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.

Mix with Pasta: Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss well, ensuring the pasta is coated in the creamy garlic sauce.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley and lemon zest for an extra zing. Serve immediately while hot.
