Ingredients

2 slices of sourdough bread

1 tablespoon butter

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup dill pickle slices (you can use bread and butter pickles for sweetness)

1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Spread 1/2 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread the cream cheese evenly (optional).

Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the cream cheese.

Layer the dill pickle slices over the cheese. For extra flavor, add some garlic powder, salt, and pepper on top of the pickles.

Add the remaining cheddar cheese over the pickles for an extra cheesy finish.

Place the second slice of sourdough bread, buttered side up, on top of the sandwich.

Carefully transfer the sandwich to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Flip the sandwich using a spatula and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes, ensuring the cheese is melted and gooey.

Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.
