Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon sugar

3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center, then combine the milk and melted butter in a separate bowl. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Knead: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently for 2-3 minutes until smooth.

Roll Out the Dough: Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Add Fillings: Sprinkle the sliced pepperoni evenly over the dough, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese. If using, sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.

Roll it Up: Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.

Slice: Cut the roll into 1-inch thick slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as a delicious snack or appetizer!
