Ingredients

Lasagna noodles - 12 sheets (regular or no-boil)

Ground beef - 1 pound (80/20 blend recommended)

Bacon - 6 strips, cooked and crumbled

Garlic - 4 cloves, minced

Onion - 1 medium, diced

Italian Seasoning - 1 tablespoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Black pepper - ½ teaspoon

Tomato sauce - 2 cups

Cream cheese - 8 ounces, softened

Sour cream - 1 cup

Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated

Cheddar cheese - 2 cups, shredded

Mozzarella cheese - 2 cups, shredded

Fresh parsley - for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove from pan, crumble, and set aside. Keep a tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet for flavor.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add diced onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic, continue to sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Add ground beef to the skillet and break it apart with a spatula. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Mix the Sauces: Stir in the tomato sauce and crumbled bacon to the beef mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Set aside.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Layer the Lasagna: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a 9x13 inch dish, spread a layer of the meat mixture at the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over it. Spread half of the cheese mixture on top of the noodles followed by a sprinkle of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.

Repeat Layers: Add another layer of meat sauce, followed by 3 more noodles. Spread the remaining cheese mixture, then top with a layer of meat sauce and remaining noodles. Finish with the rest of the sauce, and then sprinkle the top with the remaining cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.

Bake: Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Rest and Serve: Once done, let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
