Ingredients

1 pound ziti pasta

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 cup parmesan cheese, grated

1 cup fontina cheese, shredded

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella, 1/2 cup of provolone, 1/2 cup of fontina, and 1/4 cup of parmesan. Mix in the heavy cream, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the remaining minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Remove from heat and mix it with marinara sauce.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce with garlic, and the cheese mixture. Toss until the pasta is well coated.

Assemble the Dish: Pour half of the ziti mixture into a greased baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches). Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and provolone cheese over the first layer. Add the remaining ziti mixture on top.

Final Topping: Sprinkle the remaining fontina and parmesan cheese on the top layer. Optionally, you can add a drizzle of olive oil for extra richness.

Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.
