12 mozzarella cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Oil for frying

Marinara sauce for dipping

Begin by cutting the mozzarella sticks in half, creating 24 shorter sticks for more bite-sized enjoyment.

    Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in another shallow dish, and combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third shallow dish.

      Dip each mozzarella stick first into the flour, coating it thoroughly, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to ensure the coating adheres well.

        Once all sticks are breaded, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. This step prevents the cheese from oozing out during frying.

          Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat; enough to submerge the sticks, aiming for about 350°F (175°C).

            Carefully add a few frozen cheese sticks at a time into the hot oil, frying them for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.

              Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
