Ingredients

For the Rolls:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

½ cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)

½ cup pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)

⅓ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

For the Filling:

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

¼ cup pure maple syrup

1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warmed milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, pumpkin puree, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

Roll Out the Dough: After rising, punch the dough down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll the dough out into a 16x12-inch rectangle.

Spread the Butter: Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the brown sugar filling mixture over the buttery surface.

Roll and Cut: Starting from one long end, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until puffy.

Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Rolls: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Prepare the Maple Glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and enough milk to achieve your desired consistency.

Glaze the Rolls: Once the rolls are baked and still warm, drizzle the maple glaze generously over the top.

Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Maple-Glazed Pumpkin Spice Rolls warm!
