Ingredients

1 lb kielbasa sausage

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite type)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Take the kielbasa and slice it lengthwise, making crosswise cuts at 1/2 inch intervals, being careful not to cut all the way through (this creates the Hasselback effect).

In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Place the sliced kielbasa on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the maple BBQ mixture generously over the top of the kielbasa, ensuring the sauce seeps into the cuts.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Halfway through, remove the sheet and brush more of the maple BBQ sauce over the kielbasa for an extra sticky glaze.

Once the time is up, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the top slightly for extra flavor, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing into bite-sized pieces.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
