Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

1/2 cup green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup steamed broccoli (or other vegetables of choice)

Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Use a spatula to break it up as it cooks.

Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then reduce the heat to medium.

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, stirring constantly for about 1 minute until fragrant.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, gochujang, and rice vinegar. Pour this mixture into the beef and stir well to combine.

Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef.

Stir in the chopped green onions, reserving some for garnish.

Serve the beef mixture over a bed of cooked rice and top with steamed broccoli.

Garnish with additional green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an added crunch.
