Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (preferably lean)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 3 cloves)

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 cups cooked white or brown rice

1 cup broccoli florets (steamed)

1 carrot, julienned

2 green onions, sliced

2 eggs (optional)

Sesame seeds for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula, and cook until it starts to brown (about 5-6 minutes).

Add Marinade: Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then pour the marinade over the cooked ground beef. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Allow it to simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the flavors meld together. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.

Prepare Veggies: While the beef is cooking, steam the broccoli until tender yet crisp. In a separate skillet, lightly sauté the carrots for 2-3 minutes until just tender.

Cook Eggs (Optional): If you’d like to add eggs, scramble them in a small non-stick pan until cooked through.

Assemble the Bowl: In serving bowls, layer a scoop of rice as the base. Top with the ground beef mixture, steamed broccoli, and sautéed carrots. If using, add the scrambled eggs on top.

Garnish: Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds over the top for added flavor and presentation.

Serve: Enjoy your Korean Beef Bowl warm, and perhaps with a side of kimchi for an extra kick!
