Ingredients
  

4 cups water

2 tablespoons Kashmiri green tea leaves

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 cups whole milk

4 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

2 tablespoons crushed pistachios (for garnish)

2 tablespoons crushed almonds (for garnish)

A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

In a heavy-bottomed pot, bring the water to a rolling boil.

    Once it reaches a boil, add the Kashmiri green tea leaves and baking soda. Stir well; the baking soda will help develop the beautiful pink color.

      Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The water will reduce, and the color will darken.

        When the tea develops a rich color and volume reduces to about 1 cup, add the milk gradually while stirring continuously.

          Increase the heat slightly and let the tea come back to a gentle boil. You should see the lovely pinkish hue develop.

            Add sugar and a pinch of salt, then stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

              Turn off the heat, stir in the cardamom powder, and let the tea steep for a few minutes more.

                Strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh sieve.

                  Garnish with crushed pistachios and almonds for a delightful crunch.
