Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, diced jalapeños, and chopped green onions. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Season the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning according to your taste.

Using your hands, form the cheese mixture into small balls, roughly 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.

Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

Roll each cheese ball first in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by rolling it in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly. Place the coated balls back on the baking sheet.

In a deep pan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the cheese balls in the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

Once fried, remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or spicy salsa.
