Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon almond extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Extracts: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla and almond extracts, continuing to mix until well blended.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in Sprinkles: Gently fold in the sprinkles, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape the Cookies: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You can also shape them into festive forms if desired!

Bake: Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may seem soft, but they'll firm up as they cool.

Cool and Dust: Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven, allow them to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
