Ingredients

1 lb (450g) chicken tenders

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferable for extra crunch)

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the honey garlic sauce:

1/2 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

1 tablespoon water (optional, for thinning)

Instructions

Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.

Set up the breading station: In three separate bowls, put flour in the first, whisk the eggs and milk together in the second, and in the third, combine breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Bread the chicken: Dip each chicken tender first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it in the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

Fry the chicken: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken tenders in batches (don't overcrowd the pan). Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the honey garlic sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir and let it come to a simmer. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then stir it into the sauce until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Combine: Toss the crispy chicken tenders in the honey garlic sauce or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.

Serve: Plate the chicken tenders and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy your delicious Honey Garlic Crispy Chicken Tenders!
