Ingredients

4 bone-in chicken thighs, skin-on

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended. Place chicken thighs in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours for maximum flavor.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare Baking Dish: Remove the chicken from the marinade and set aside. Pour the marinade into a small saucepan and add sesame oil. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. If you want a thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in a tablespoon of cold water and mix it into the simmering sauce, cooking until thickened.

Bake the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs, skin side up, in a greased baking dish. Brush some of the thickened marinade over the chicken skin. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden brown.

Glaze and Serve: In the last 5-10 minutes of baking, brush the chicken with more marinade for extra flavor. Once done, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
