Ingredients

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.

Whisk together until all the spices are well mixed and fully incorporated.

Taste the seasoning blend, and adjust any spices according to your preference (more chili for heat, more cumin for depth).

Transfer the homemade taco seasoning to an airtight container or spice jar. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

To use, add 2-3 tablespoons of seasoning to 1 pound of cooked meat or vegetables, along with a splash of water, to infuse flavor. Simmer until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
