Ingredients

2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved

1 cup fresh lime juice (about 6-8 limes)

1 cup granulated sugar (adjust for sweetness)

4 cups cold water

Lime slices, for garnish

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the halved cherries and 1 cup of water. Cook for about 5 minutes until the cherries soften and begin to release their juices, stirring occasionally.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the cherry mixture cool for about 10 minutes.

Once cooled, transfer the cherry mixture to a blender. Add the remaining 3 cups of water, lime juice, and sugar. Blend until smooth.

Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any solids. Use a spoon to press the mixture to extract more juice.

Taste the limeade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Serve the cherry limeade over ice and garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves.
