Ingredients

1 lb ground lamb

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely grated

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef.

Add the grated onion, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. If desired, mix in the fresh parsley for added flavor.

Using your hands, thoroughly mix the meat and spices until well combined. Be careful not to overwork the mixture, as this can lead to a tough texture.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Shape the mixture into a loaf or form into patties, pressing them firmly to compact the meat.

Place the formed meat on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top for enhanced moisture during cooking.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Once cooked, let the meat rest for about 10 minutes before slicing thinly.

Serve warm in pita bread with tzatziki sauce, fresh tomatoes, red onions, and lettuce, or enjoy as part of a platter.
