Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup whole milk

12 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until well combined.

Incorporate Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, blend the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Milk: Gradually pour in the cold milk, stirring just until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Shape the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until smooth. Pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.

Prepare the Mozzarella: Cut the dough into 12 equal squares. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center of each square and fold the corners up, pinching the seams together tightly to seal the cheese within.

Bake the Bombs: Place the sealed biscuit bombs seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Serve Warm: Remove the biscuit bombs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
