Ingredients

500g ground beef

250g ground pork

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 slices of white bread, crusts removed

100ml milk

1 large egg

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon paprika powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

Fresh rolls for serving

Salad greens, sliced tomatoes, and pickles for toppings

Instructions

Start by soaking the slices of white bread in the milk in a small bowl until soft, about 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, soaked bread (squeeze out excess milk), egg, Dijon mustard, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture.

Mix everything thoroughly with your hands until well combined.

Shape the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick. You should get approximately 8 patties.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove the patties and let them rest briefly on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

To serve, place each Frikadelle on a fresh roll and add salad greens, sliced tomatoes, and pickles as desired.
