Ingredients

1 lb beef ribeye (thinly sliced)

4 whole sub rolls or hoagie buns

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup provolone cheese (thinly sliced)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced beef ribeye with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Once the skillet is hot, add the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside.

Make the Broth: In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom to release any flavorful bits left from cooking the beef. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Toast the Buns: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the sub rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast the buns in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden and slightly crispy.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Divide the cooked beef evenly among the toasted sub rolls. Top each with a generous slice of provolone cheese, allowing it to melt slightly from the residual heat.

Serve with Broth: Ladle the warm broth into small bowls to use as a dipping sauce. Serve the sandwiches alongside the broth for an authentic French dip experience.

Garnish and Enjoy: Optionally, garnish with parsley for an added touch of freshness. Serve immediately while everything is warm and melty.
