Ingredients

1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits (homestyle works great)

1 lb breakfast sausage (bulk or patties, your choice)

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped bell pepper

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Prepare the Biscuits: While the sausage mixture is cooking, open the can of biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters. Place the biscuit pieces evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.

Layer the Ingredients: Once the sausage is cooked, evenly distribute the sausage and vegetable mixture over the biscuit pieces. Then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Mix the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).

Assemble the Casserole: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole, ensuring all ingredients are covered.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Cut into squares and serve warm.
