Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 slices of ham (preferably thinly sliced)

4 slices of Swiss cheese

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.

Stuff the Chicken: Lay a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each flattened chicken breast. Carefully roll them up tightly, securing the edges with toothpicks if needed.

Breading Station: Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, the second with beaten eggs, and the third with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Bread the Chicken: Dredge each chicken roll in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating on all sides.

Cook the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken rolls and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Make the Creamy Sauce: Once browned, remove the skillet from heat and transfer the chicken rolls to a plate. In the same pan, add heavy cream, chicken broth, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine and heat on low until slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).

Bake: Return the chicken to the skillet with the sauce, spooning some sauce over the top. Cover with foil and place in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F/74°C).

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with the creamy sauce and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish.
