Ingredients

9 lasagna noodles

2 cups cooked ham, diced

2 cups fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 large egg

3 cups marinara sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for sautéing

Fresh basil or parsley for garnishing (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Asparagus: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Sauté the asparagus pieces for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still bright green. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

          Assemble the Lasagna:

            - Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

              - Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.

                - Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.

                  - Layer with half of the diced ham, half of the sautéed asparagus, and a portion of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

                    - Repeat the layering process with another set of noodles, the remaining ricotta, ham, asparagus, and cheese.

                      - Finish with the last layer of noodles and cover with the remaining marinara sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Bake the Lasagna: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let it Cool: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Enjoy your delicious ham and asparagus lasagna!
