Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs

4 tablespoons brown sugar

3 tablespoons soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps in browning them nicely. Cut each thigh into bite-sized pieces for quicker cooking.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Ensure the sugar dissolves well into the mixture.

Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for about 5 minutes until they start to brown.

Add the Sauce: Pour the brown sugar garlic sauce over the chicken. Stir to coat all the pieces evenly. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Garnish and Serve: Once the chicken is done, remove from heat. Serve the chicken hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. It pairs excellently with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.
