Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped parsley

1 egg, beaten

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup beef broth

1 cup marinara sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, beaten egg, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Roll the mixture into bite-sized meatballs, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides for about 5 minutes. This step adds extra flavor, but it's optional if you want to save time.

Once browned, place the meatballs in the crockpot.

Pour the beef broth and marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are mostly submerged in the sauce for even cooking.

Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

Before serving, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If desired, sprinkle with fresh basil for added freshness and flavor.

                Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 6-8 hours | Servings: 4-6

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the meatballs over a bed of pasta or in a sub roll topped with extra marinara sauce and melted cheese for a delicious meatball sandwich. Garnish with additional fresh basil or parsley for color.
