1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp paprika

1 large egg

1 tbsp water

1/4 cup honey

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ginger, grated

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Cooking oil for frying

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon pieces dry with paper towels. This will help ensure they get crispy when cooked.

    Set Up Breading Stations: In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and paprika. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and water. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

      Coat the Salmon: Dip each piece of salmon first into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the egg wash before finally coating it in the panko breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is evenly covered.

        Fry the Salmon Bites: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the salmon bites in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

          Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Reduce for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

            Combine and Serve: Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the crispy salmon bites or toss them in a bowl with sauce to coat evenly.
