Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

1 lb ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (plus extra for topping)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cups marinara sauce (divided)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the jumbo shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine Mixture: To the skillet, add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff Shells: Carefully fill each cooked jumbo shell with the ricotta beef mixture and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Assemble Dish: Pour 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, let the dish rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, then serve hot!
