Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon orange zest (freshly grated)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup white chocolate chips

1 cup orange-flavored candies (like Sunkist or orange M&Ms)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add eggs and flavors: Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and orange zest, blending until fully integrated.

Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until mixed well.

Incorporate dry with wet: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Fold in the goodies: Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and orange-flavored candies until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop and bake: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the tops appear set. The cookies will continue to cook slightly after being taken out of the oven.

Cool down: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
